Reporting to the President the VPAA serves as the chief academic officer of the University and sits on the President’s Executive Committee of Administration (ECA). The VPAA works with the President, ECA members, faculty, and staff to ensure the mission-focus and quality of the academic programs while supporting the development of a strong and innovative faculty. The selected candidate must have: an earned doctorate (or equivalent); knowledge and understanding of accreditation criteria and processes; basic project management skills; an understanding of the student profile and unique needs of traditional, post-traditional, and graduate students; a demonstrated record of progressive accomplishment of excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and administrative leadership in higher education; outstanding communication, organizational, and leadership skills; and hold an appreciation and respect for the Adrian Dominican Sisters, their Mission and Core Values.

Siena Heights is a Catholic, co-educational university that was founded in the liberal arts tradition, offering over 100 associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs.  With an enrollment of almost 1200 students on its main campus in Adrian, Michigan and over 2300 students at all campuses, the University has a 12:1 student to faculty ratio and more than 120 full-time exceptional faculty.  SHU Global, the University’s state and nationally-ranked online program, has 8 satellite campuses.
