Job Summary:

Old Dominion University is seeking candidates for the (full-time, 12 month) Assistant Volleyball Coach. The Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach will report to the University’s Head Women’s Volleyball Coach and your primary responsibility will be to assist in the management of the women’s volleyball program and the instructing student-athletes in the program, recruiting and coordinating team equipment, transportation, housing, meals, and other travel.

Required Education:

Master’s degree in higher education, business administration, or related field or a bachelor’s degree in related field with equivalent experience to a master’s degree may be substituted.

Required Qualifications:

Considerable development experience in a higher education setting. Some volunteer management and fund-raising experience within an annual and capital campaign setting. Demonstrated experience with successful fundraising operations. Some experience with automated calling systems and campus campaigns. Several years of experience managing employees. Experience in purchasing and general fund-raising database management. Demonstrated ability to make annual leadership solicitations of a $1,000 or more. General knowledge of gift processing procedures, to include acknowledgement and pledge letters, in a nonprofit or higher education setting. Ability to transition to a fund-raising role as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Collegiate or international volleyball playing experience is preferred

Conditions of Employment:

In accordance with Executive Directive #18 issued by Governor Ralph Northam effective September 1, 2021, all Old Dominion University employees who enter the workplace or work remotely must disclose their vaccine status to the designated university personnel.  Employees who are not fully vaccinated or who refuse to disclose their current vaccine status, must undergo weekly COVID-19 testing and disclose weekly the results of those tests to designated university personnel.

Position works days, nights, and weekends. Travel required.
