Director of Annual Giving
  • Lead the conceptualization, planning, and implementation of dynamic initiatives to increase annual, renewable gifts to AUM from alumni, friends, and the business community focusing on direct mail, social media-based fundraising, student phone-a-thon, faculty/staff campaign, special event fundraising, giving clubs (i.e., Dean’s Clubs) and other means of giving.
  • Solicit gifts and/or Dean’s Club memberships through person-to-person visits, group presentations, mailings, special event fundraising, and/or phone contacts.
  • Makes calls to alumni and friends of Auburn University of Montgomery to build and cultivate relationships and solicit gifts.
  • Moves donors along the donor continuum from annual giving to leadership annual giving level. Assists in the identification and enhancement of fundraising techniques designed to build and cultivate relationships among individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Provide stewardship to include acknowledging and showing gratitude for donations/memberships either by letter, phone call, and/or participating in/attending events and functions for donors.
  • Assists in the planning, organizing, and implementation of fundraising activities.
  • Assists in the identification, cultivation and solicitation of gifts.
  • Collaborates with development officers and other staff members on events, alumni/donor engagement, and stewardship efforts.
  • Organizes information and prepares reports designed to identify fundraising opportunities and that supports planning and decision making regarding prospective donors.
  • Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Serves as a liaison to campus constituencies as it relates to increasing private support.
  • Serves as volunteer coordinator of alumni and donor development activities.
  • May develop campaigns and/or presentation proposals related to funding priorities in order to keep top prospects informed, interested, involved and to meet development goals and objectives.
  • Ensure necessary coordination to maintain validity of the donor database and prospect management system.
  • Identify and integrate multiple philanthropic opportunities to build donor continuity and generosity with particular emphasis on addressing the goals of a comprehensive campaign.
  • Reports to Associate Vice Chancellor of Advancement and keeps supervisor informed through regular meetings, reports, and updates; collaborate on joint prospects to achieve optimal results for the University and the donor.
  • Promote the goodwill of AUM through participation and ongoing contact with internal and external individuals.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for attending evening and weekend University events as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
