Job Description Summary

Responsible for leading and directing recruiting, admissions, enrollment yield, student onboard strategy and processes, and supervision of the admissions team. Actively engage a diverse student pipeline and lead innovative recruitment efforts to foster PGCC’s long-term enrollment and growth objectives, while adhering to overarching strategic priorities and KPIs. Responsible for implementing compelling strategies that build enrollment, scale trending admission practices for team members, and boost sustainable yield outcomes. Responsible for robust applicant pools; implementing a tactical enrollment management plan; managing conversion and yield strategies along the admissions funnel; working with faculty and stakeholders throughout the admissions cycle; developing programming and events for prospective learners; collaborating with the communications team to create on-target messaging; and reporting to leadership on application trends and enrollment goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master’s Degree in related field.
  2. Three years full-time or equated experience in the professional area.
  3. Must have supervised personnel and administered programs directly related to the professional area for a minimum of three years.
  4. Experience with large, interactive computer systems such as Ellucian/Recruiter preferred.

  • Provides leadership for the development and implementation of a comprehensive and effective recruitment plan to increase enrollment of new and continuing students at all extension centers, and via distance learning courses and programs.
  • Develops annual short and long-range goals and objectives for Recruitment and Admissions staff.
  • Evaluates and interprets the effectiveness of recruitment efforts; prepares monthly and annual reports.
  • Develops administers and participates in a comprehensive community outreach program for Prince George’s County and the District of Columbia.
  • Oversees maintenance of a student recruitment database to facilitate statistical analysis, reports and data driven decisions.
  • Recruits, hires, trains and evaluates new and current Recruitment and Admissions staff
  • Develops and implements a plan which addresses the information and enrollment needs/concerns of the Hispanic community.
  • Collaborates with the Office of Marketing and Creative Services, faculty, counselors and administrators to develop College wide recruitment initiatives and retention strategies and communication stream for prospective students.
  • Ensures that outreach efforts and procedures are communicated to appropriate College personnel.
  • Develops, implements and actively participates in community workshops and high school visitation programs.
  • Develops, coordinates and executes the high school testing and advising program, the high school counselor’s orientation, college career fairs, regional financial aid workshops, campus visitation program, concurrent enrollment cohort program, dual enrollment programs and high school college fairs.
  • Ensures the College is represented at high school college nights/career dates and other community functions.
  • Provides, along with Recruitment and Admissions team, pre-admission information and services to prospective students, families, community and other constituents.
  • Participates, along with Recruitment and Admissions team, in appropriate professional development activities.
  • Maintains currency with professional literature related to recruitment and admissions; keep staff and Registrar apprised of industry trends and developments.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive recruitment and information program with Prince George’s County and District of Columbia library systems.
  • Develops, maintains and implements a recruitment master schedule for high school and community visits and events.
  • Oversees all office procedures related to information requests, program development, room reservations, mailing and telemarketing efforts.
  • Oversees successful recruitment of Kathy and Jerry Wood, and Board of Trustees Scholarship awardees; ensure retention of these students.
  • Supervises admission for general admission and specialty applicants – international (F-1), concurrent/ DUAL / TAG, and Allied Health.
  • Serves as institutions’ Designated School Official ( DSO ) for all international (F-1) applicants and students.
  • Manages admissions policies and processes governing academic reinstatement.
  • Supports peak registration as needed.
  • Responsible for communications management relative to newly admitted students-notifications of Owl Link and Owl Mail accounts, etc.
  • Documents policies, process and procedures related to Recruitment and Admissions.
  • Ensures office and College compliance with FERPA regulations.
  • Manages catalog content related to admissions policies and procedures.
  • Manages Web, Portal and Owl Link procedures and content related to Recruitment and Admissions.
  • Responsible for Ellucian/ Recruiter processes and maintenance related to Recruitment and Admissions.
  • Serves on College Official/Committees – Web Advisory Committee, Space Utilizing Committee, APSO Student Services representative. Serves on all College committees related to recruitment efforts.
  • Assists in the preparation of office goals, objectives, reports and budgets.
  • Assists the Registrar in the evaluation, revision and enforcement of office policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with counterpart (Associate Registrar) and with Registrar to provide leadership support in each other’s absence.
  • Participates in local, state and national organizations related to the areas of responsibility.
  • Identifies and implements critical customer service standards in support of the college’s mission and strategic plan. Implements appropriate learning-centered activities in support of the College’s vision, mission and strategic plan.
  • Performs related work as required.
Job Requirements

  1. Must be available to work Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  3. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
