OVERVIEW
VCU seeks a Finance Director to support the Office of Institutional Equity, Effectiveness and Success. This role is responsible for all fiscal administrative oversight for IES departmental units. The role will serve as a strategic advisor to the Vice President and Vice Provost and provide guidance on alignment of resources to build out the future of the organization through financial planning, modeling, and forecasting. The position will oversee the procurement function, reconciliation processes, Agency Risk Management and Internal Control Standards, building management, records management, and technology needs for the organization. The incumbent will work with leadership, directors, and unit leads through budget development, implementation, and evaluation and keep stakeholders informed of financial positions as needed throughout the fiscal year. This role will work in tandem with the senior leadership team to develop business plans for revenue generating activities for the organization and will partner to provide financial guidance for strategic planning initiatives. The Finance Director will also be responsible for oversight of financial administration for all research and grant-related activities. This includes budget development, financial reporting, managing the effort certification process and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and university policies.

As a team member of the Office of Institutional Equity, Effectiveness and Success (IES), the incumbent will promote a climate of trust, honesty, and integrity where all people are valued and where differences are recognized as an asset.

Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
- 5 or more years of experience with financial management
- Extensive budgetary development experience; experience in financial analytics
- Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems independently
- Significant attention to detail and strong ability to work in a self-directed manner balancing multiple priorities
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive environment
- Experience managing federally-sponsored grant funds and contracts
- Experience in pre- and post-award research administration in higher education and/or research institutions.
- Knowledgeable of Facilities and Administrative Cost Recovery (FACR)/Modified Total Direct Costs (MTDC) allocations
- System proficiency in Banner, RAMS-SPOT, RealSource, and SAS Reporting preferred
- Google suite applications, spreadsheet/database programs, and Zoom
