Purpose of Position
Northern Kentucky University ( NKU ) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Economics to start August 2022.

The AACSB -accredited Haile College of Business serves over 2,700 of NKU’s 16,000 students with a full complement of traditional degree programs. In this position, the candidate would teach our Principles of Macroeconomics course immediately, with additional teaching opportunities as needed. We invite candidates with a particular interest in experiential learning and pedagogy to apply for this position. Summer research support is available each year on a competitive basis. The standard teaching load for an assistant professor in this position is 3/3 which continues after tenure by maintaining active scholar status. Qualifications
The ideal candidate must hold a PhD in Economics at the time of appointment (by August 2022). Teaching assignment involves multiple sections of the same course in order to minimize the number of distinct preparations per academic year. The successful candidate will provide excellent teaching at the undergraduate level both in the classroom and online, and will develop a research agenda focused on innovative approaches to improve teaching of economics and associated skills. Pedagogical and applied research are acceptable intellectual contributions towards tenure.

The Haile College of Business at NKU is accredited by AACSB and SACS . Both accreditors require assurance of learning ( AOL ) associated with the Principles of Economics (Micro and Macro), core courses for all College of Business students and General Education courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the (continued) development of AOL metrics, their implementation, and the reporting of AOL results to the appropriate college and university offices. Additionally, this position requires relationship-building with students and other constituents for program development and growth.
