Opening Details

The Williams Alumni Fund gives all 30,000+ alumni the opportunity to make a difference for current Williams students each year. The Director of Alumni Fund Leadership Giving helps those alumni with the financial capacity to do more to maximize their annual impact. As the Director of Alumni Fund Leadership Giving, you’ll build and strengthen systems to support peer-to-peer asks, cultivation, and stewardship of donors contributing $2,500-$250,000 to Williams while also working with a small group of alumni leadership prospects.


Responsibilities

Leadership giving within the Alumni Fund has an outsized impact: last year (FY21), the 7% of alumni donors who made leadership gifts contributed 70% of the total raised ($10m of $14m total). The Director of Alumni Fund Leadership Giving is responsible for all aspects of the leadership giving program, including volunteer training, cultivation and stewardship events, and coordination of solicitations across the volunteer, Alumni Fund, and major giving teams by working in close partnership with members of the development leadership team.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of non-profit fundraising experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • You have previous experience working with volunteers, leadership giving programs, and leadership giving donors
  • You have excellent organizational, oral and written communications skills, and you routinely exhibit the flexibility to creatively conceive and adapt different approaches to varied constituencies
  • You are experienced as a project manager, and have experience collaboratively setting goals while planning for their achievement and evaluating outcomes
  • You have direct experience in soliciting, negotiating, and closing leadership gifts, and thrive in an entrepreneurial mindset while working as part of a highly functioning team
