Summary of Job Duties:Work with the Gallery Director to perform multiple tasks in regard to all aspects of gallery supervision, collection management, research, exhibition production, and promotion of exhibitions and related events sponsored by the art department and university. The position reports to the Gallery Director.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Work Experience:
  • Must be a studio art or graphic design major in good academic standing.
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience:
  • Upper-level students preferred.
  • Second-year students will be considered based on special interests and experience, including interest in a gallery and/or museum career and/or experience in art handling and preparation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Organizational skills, computer skills, communication skills, and physical assistance required to perform the job successfully.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to visitors.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Adobe Suite.
  • Familiarity with basic office equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic photography.
  • Basic use of hand tools.
Salary Information:

$11/hour

Working Relationships: Works in a dynamic team of diverse faculty, staff, and students. Frequent contact with public visitors, vendors, and personnel from other agencies and institutions.

Special Job Dimensions: Position has maximum of 15 hours/week. Requires occasional travel and occasional evening and weekend hours.
