The Department of Health Sciences and Human Performance within the College of Natural and Health Sciences at the University of Tampa invites applications for a full-time teaching faculty position beginning in August 2022. This is a non-tenure track position with opportunities for promotion.

This position will have teaching and service requirements.  Primary teaching responsibilities in Human Anatomy and Physiology, Introductory Exercise Science/Human Performance (e.g., Intro to Exercise Sciences, Adult Fitness, Intro to Health Science) and other introductory courses as needed by the department. Each candidate will be expected to teach 27 contact hours per academic year. Opportunities for summer teaching may be available.

 

Qualifications

A PhD in Exercise Science, Health Science, Biology, or related discipline is required.

 

The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated expertise in human anatomy and physiology. Prior teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence in lower and upper division undergraduate courses is required.  Experience in teaching anatomy and physiology for nursing and health sciences as well as experience in teaching exercise science or human performance undergraduate courses is required. Preferential consideration will be given to those with ACSM-Exercise Physiologist and/or NSCA-CSCS certifications.

 

Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
