Wichita State University, College of Applied Studies is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Counseling and Clinical Mental Health in the Department of Intervention Services & Leadership in Education.  


 Job duties:

  • Teach courses in counseling/clinical mental health.  
  • Oversee student practica and internships; and supervise graduate students in the counseling and play therapy clinics.  
  • Develop, foster, and maintain relationships with appropriate entities for referrals/student placements.  
  • Engage in scholarly research activities.

 
Minimum Educational Requirements: Doctorate from a CACREP-accredited university in counseling, and/or counselor education or ABD upon hire date preferred. 

 

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Experience as a licensed professional counselor or clinical mental health counselor. 
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience in a CACREP-accredited program and experience in supervising counseling practicum and internship students. 
  • Professional identity as a Counselor Educator as evidenced by affiliations with either/or the American Counseling Association (ACA), American Mental Health Counselor Association (AMHCA), or the Association for Counselor Education & Supervision (ACES). 
  • Knowledge of CACREP standards. 
  • Successful experience with diverse populations.
