Assistant Professor in Engineering, beginning Fall 2022 (Tenure-Stream)

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is currently seeking a full-time assistant professor of Engineering in the Division of Physical and Computational Sciences beginning Fall 2022.    

Requirements: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates. Scholarship, advising, and service activities are required. Experience teaching at the university or collegiate level is required; relevant work experience and three to five years of university level teaching experience strongly preferred. 

Responsibilities: Applicants must be able to teach 12 credits per semester in Engineering at the undergraduate level. Applicants for this position must be able to teach classes offered in Pitt-Bradford’s two-year engineering transfer programs.  Courses to be taught may include Intro to Engineering Analysis, Intro to Engineering Computing, Freshman Engineering Seminar, Linear Circuits and Systems, and Statistics and Mechanics of Materials. Candidates experienced working with college students from diverse backgrounds and with applied experience in the field of expertise are encouraged to apply.  In addition to the existing two-year transfer program, Pitt-Bradford will implement new B.S. degree programs in Energy Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology in the Fall of 2022: https://upb.pitt.edu/posts/news/pitt-bradford-offer-two-new-engineering-technology-majors. The successful candidates will be involved in setting up new lab equipment and will be integral partners in growing and developing the new majors in this purpose-built, state-of-the-art new building.
