The University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) invites applications and nominations for the position of Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (SVCAA). Reporting to the Chancellor, the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs serves as the chief academic officer of the university, providing administrative leadership, direction and evaluation for all academic activities and faculty affairs of UNK.

Founded in 1905, UNK is one of four distinct university campuses comprising the University of Nebraska system governed by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents and President. UNK is a public, residential university committed to being one of the nation’s premier undergraduate institutions with excellent graduate education, scholarship and public service. A high quality, affordable, student-centered regional hub of intellectual, cultural and artistic excellence  UNK is home to approximately 6,300 students and offers 120 undergraduate majors, 22 pre-professional programs, and 27 masters/certificate programs within its three colleges: Arts and Sciences, Education, and Business and Technology.

Notably, UNK is experiencing growth in enrollment, campus facilities, research notoriety and funding, and reputation. For nearly a decade, UNK has been identified as one of the top 10 public colleges and universities in the Midwest, and for 2022, UNK was ranked #6overall in Top Midwest Public Colleges and Universities by U.S. News and World Report.

The SVCAA will be a seasoned, inspirational action-oriented educational leader who understands and is energized by the mission of UNK. A strong record of faculty service as teach, scholar, dean and successful senior-level administrative experience is expected. A Ph.D. or other terminal degree is required.
