Position Summary/Purpose:
The College of Arts and Sciences at North Park University seeks applications for an open-rank, full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Biology to begin in August 2022.
We seek a dynamic teacher and a proactive contributor to the life of the North Park community. The primary teaching responsibilities for the position are human anatomy and physiology. Additional teaching may include upper-division electives in areas of the candidate’s specialty, with a preference for histology, developmental biology, or courses on non-human animals. The preferred candidate will have a record of effective teaching at the undergraduate level.
The successful candidate will develop a laboratory or pedagogy research program that involves undergraduate students.
Essential Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biology or Related Field
- A clear understanding of and personal commitment to North Park University’s mission of Christian higher education and intercultural values.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in college-level teaching of human anatomy and physiology
- Experience in effective practices for engaging students who are diverse and/or are students who are historically underserved
- Expertise in histology, developmental biology, non-human animals, or other areas of need in the department
Effective Date: August 2022 (Nine-month position)
