Work type: Onsite, Staff-Full Time
Department: EXT/YFH/HDR/FAM ENGAGE & REL
Location: Price County
Categories: Engagement and Outreach

Job Summary:

Division of Extension, UW Madison educators are based in 71 Wisconsin counties. As a statewide engagement arm of UW-Madison, the Division of Extension embodies the Wisconsin Idea to extend university knowledge to every corner of the state. Each of these program areas are represented by an institute working with educators statewide.

The educator is part of Extension's Human Development & Relationships Institute. The Institute provides the tools Wisconsinites need to thrive as well rounded, capable individuals and families. Institute personnel supports families in caring for each other in ways that promote growth and understanding. Programs promote aging friendly communities, coach effective parents, and help families put technology, mindfulness, and financial awareness to use.

The Price County Human Development & Relationships Educator will develop and implement programming in support of parents, that will strengthen family relationships, that will help people age well in place, and that will address needs of at risk populations being served by nonprofit organizations and county health and human services staff.

A small portion of time will be spent helping to administer Extension's popular Strong Bodies (senior fitness) program in the county.

Besides working closely with the Human Development & Relationships Institute, Extension colleagues, and the Area Director, ongoing collaboration with county staff and nonprofit organizations is expected.
