Assistant/Associate Director of Research, Reporting and Analysis

Job Summary:

The Assistant /Associate Director of Research, Reporting and Analysis in the Marist Advancement Office plays an important role in the Advancement team’s overall fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Director of Development Research, the Assistant/Associate Director of Research, Reporting and Analysis plays a key role in advancing Marist’s prospect research efforts and assists in Advancement’s effective utilization of database systems to enhance and inform the overall fundraising effort.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree along with at least 2 of relevant experience is required
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to analyze data, solve problems and handle multiple projects at the same time.
Essential Functions:

This data-centric position:
  • Provides research data to the Director of Development Research to be used in written reports regarding prospects, prospect leads and donors
  • Works in close collaboration with the Director of Advancement Services to create and maintain an efficient and accurate reporting environment and promote the effective use of the College’s Advancement administrative database (Banner), as well as provide support for third-party systems
  • Generates key performance metrics and analysis of institutional data to identify philanthropic patterns and giving trend analysis
  • Generates lists and reports as needed for the Director of Development Research, front line fundraisers, and advancement office staff in all facets of their work
Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of MS Office; intermediate Excel and Word
  • Experience with Ellucian’s Banner Advancement administrative system or other similar systems.
  • Experience with Evisions Argos report writer or other report writing software
  • Knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language)
  • Experience with Anthology (formerly iModules)
  • Work experience in a higher education setting is also preferred

Please note: The primary work location for this position is Poughkeepsie, NY. Local, on-campus work in Poughkeepsie, NY will be required as a condition of employment.

Relocation: It is College policy to reimburse eligible newly hired full-time administrative staff members for reasonable expenses incurred in relocating to the area. To be eligible for reimbursement, new employees must move a minimum of 50 miles from their present home; must move within the first year of hire. Generally, the College will reimburse eligible moving and relocating expenses up to $7,000.
