Full-Time Tenure-Track Faculty, Human Services

Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY is a college of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and one of 30 locally sponsored community colleges throughout New York State. Onondaga County is our sponsor. We offer two-year degree programs that serve as transfer opportunities to baccalaureate degree programs at four-year campuses or for direct entry to the workforce. Job Description:

Human Services faculty are responsible for:

• Development of content and learning activities for classes to be delivered in the traditional face-to-face and alternate modalities;
• On-campus availability for student support;
• Technology to enhance learning;
• Outcomes assessment;
• Working with diverse populations of students, especially underrepresented students;
• Academic advisement.

Requirements:

Qualifications: 

• Master's or Ph.D. in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling or Adult Education with graduate credits in a closely related field.
• A minimum of 3 years experience working in the Human Services or Social Work fields of Social Work, Human Services, or Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with local service delivery systems found throughout Central New York.
• Teaching experience at a college level.
• Experience with curriculum development
• Experience with course level, program level, and institutional assessment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching, flexibility in instructional delivery, active professional development/life-long learning, experience in student advisement, curriculum development, service to college and community, and a commitment to working closely with undergraduate students in small-class settings in a dynamic and diverse/multicultural college environment.

The 2022/23 starting salary for rank of Assistant Professor is $56,250.
