Job Description:

Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in an ACEN- accredited Associate Degree Nursing program. Candidates with skilled nursing and home health experience welcome to apply.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching nursing theory, clinical instruction and evaluation, lab instruction and evaluation;
  • Student advisement;
  • Curriculum development and evaluation;
  • Service on department and college-wide committees;

 

 


Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Current NYS RN registration and CPR certification
  • Three (3) years of current acute-care clinical experience; Must be able to assist students with bedside nursing care and have broad experience with current and evolving clinical technology
  • Advanced computer skills required

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • One (1) year skilled nursing and/or home health experience
  • The ideal candidate will also have formal coursework in nursing education
  • Teaching experience, especially at the community college level
  • Experience with designing and conducting clinical laboratory simulations and a working knowledge of operating simulation manikins is preferred

The 2022/23 starting salary for an Instructor rank is $50,000 and an Assistant Professor is $56,250.
