The Department of Accounting in the School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) invites applicants for adjunct faculty positions from July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022. If you are still interested in adjunct positions after June 30, 2022, you are required to apply to a new adjunct posting after July 1, 2022. The Department offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs in Accounting, including a Ph.D. in Business with a concentration in Accounting. Both the School of Business and the Accounting program are AACSB accredited.
VCU enrolls about 3,900 students in the School of Business. VCU is located in Richmond, the state capital, which has a thriving business community and an excellent quality of life. VCU is a diverse academic community in which people of all backgrounds are welcomed and accepted.
Primary responsibilities:
Teaching an Accounting Information Systems course in the B.S. Accounting Program.
Required Qualifications:
A M.Acc. Degree, or an MBA degree.
Excellent oral and written English language skills are required.
Experience in Accounting Information Systems.
Experience connecting with the business community to facilitate connections that will be required to identify guest speakers for classroom presentations.
The applicant should demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or the commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
CISA Certification
10 years of IT audit and risk assessment experience
Evidence of 1 recent experience teaching undergraduate Accounting courses
Experience as an IT Auditor
