The College of Education at Northern Kentucky University is seeking to add to an already strong teaching faculty that appreciate the importance of classroom equity for all students. We invite applications to join our college in a full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant/Associate Professor in Special Education within the Department of Teacher Preparation and Educational Studies. Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include teaching online and on-campus undergraduate and graduate special education courses, supervising field experiences, collaborating with colleagues in field-based programs, engaging in scholarly activity, advising graduate students, and serving the university, the profession, and the community. This position is a nine-month appointment, with possible summer employment. Salary and benefits are competitive. Qualifications
Required Qualifications
· Earned doctorate in Special Education or related field ( ABD considered)
· At least three years of K-12 classroom teaching experience
· Broad-based experience teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities, including learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and/or mild intellectual disabilities
· Experience with diverse populations
· Experience in inclusive environments and the general education curriculum
· Committed to developing cultural competence and supporting diversity
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working with students with moderate and severe disabilities
· Qualified for certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst ( BCBA )
· Experience integrating innovative online teaching practices
