The Ball State University School of Music invites applications to a full-time, Non tenure-line appointment (beginning August 2022) for an artist-teacher of clarinet to teach graduate and undergraduate applied clarinet.

Description

Teach graduate and undergraduate applied clarinet. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a national/international profile, recruit/maintain a strong clarinet studio, and be a contributing member of the faculty. Additional performance opportunities may be available locally and regionally. Candidate would also be required to teach in other areas of need to include but not limited to history of rock, ethnomusicology, music theory and aural skills, and ensemble and chamber music coaching.

Faculty members are expected to function as collaborative, innovative, inclusive and adaptive members of the College of Fine Arts community, both within and beyond one’s home unit.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Completed master’s degree or Artist Diploma in music by date of employment.
  • Documented history of professional activity in clarinet performance.
Authorization to work in the US

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Completed doctoral degree.
  • Exceptional professional experience.
  • Previous successful university level teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching in the areas of Music History, Music Theory, and Music Composition
