The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Athletics Department is looking to bring on board a dynamic leader who possesses the ability to develop an effective and competitive intercollegiate football program through the recruitment and coaching of quality student athletes that can handle the rigors of college life on and off the field. This dynamic leader is responsible for the overall success of the football program while supporting the mission and core values of the athletics department and the university. Responsibilities

Coaching

1. Understand and develop plans for student athlete success on and off the field of competition.

2. Plan, organize and execute all in season practice sessions, competition plans and team meetings as well as off season conditioning programs.

3. Collaborate and plan with the staff to implement strength and conditioning for football student athletes.

4. Continually evaluate each individual student athlete's needs and short/long term goals.

5. Develop and implement coaching strategies that support the offense, defense, and special teams.

6. Plan, organize and execute all in season meetings, practices sessions, team travel and off-season meetings / workout's

7. Provide leadership to assistant coaches to manage the staff and have clear goals and expectations.

8. Create an environment that places value on student athletes and staff safety, Mental Health

and overall, well-being.

9. Continually evaluate each individual student athlete's short- and long-term goals.

Recruiting

1. Recruit and retain academically and athletically qualified student athletes.

2. Follow recruiting guidelines of UW Oshkosh, the (WIAC) Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics Conference and the NCAA.

3. Work collaboratively within the university to plan, organize, implement and follow up on an extensive on going recruiting effort through written, verbal and personal contact with student athletes and their families.

Administrative

1. Devise schedule for competition including all travel arrangements for all away meets (including transportation, lodging, food)

2. Plan, organize and execute recruiting responsibilities for the football program

3. Oversee compliance with the NCAA and (WIAC) Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rules and regulations. Ensure adherence to rules, regulations and policies of all governing bodies (UW Oshkosh), (WIAC),(NCAA).

4. Establish and execute a successful fundraising plan for the program and execute fundraising projects when appropriate.

5. Promote the program, athletic department, and the university as a whole through camps, clinics and speaking engagements.

6. Develop and maintain relationships with UW Oshkosh Football alumni and friends.

7. Maintain responsibility for all program expenditures and revenues.

8. Monitor student athletes in their academic performances to assure a timely progress to degree completion.

9. Take part in professional development and educational activities to learn new ideas, concepts and changes that occur in football at the conference and national level.

10. Attend department meetings, organizational efforts and departmental activities.

11. Manage and communicate with the coaching staff as well as maintaining a positive collaboration with support staff.

12. Create and maintain an environment that is respectful and accepting of diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Set clear guidelines for expected behaviors and clear methods of reporting inappropriate behavior.

13. Administer all athletic department VISA accounts including training to ensure are compliant in recording transactions and following University and State guidelines for the VISA accounts. Responsible for communicating all procedures staff needs to follow and ensure proper administration of the accounts.

14. Process all athletic department cash advance requests for travel. Primary administrator and department auditor for all (TES) expense reports for the athletic department.

15. Additional duties are event management for Men's Basketball games.

16. Demonstrate familiarity with national trends and best practices related to diversity, equity, inclusivity, undergraduate retention programs and practices, academic support services and campus climate issues.

17. Endorse and support other sports within the athletic department and other duties as outlined by the Athletic Director.

18. Monitor UWO athletic facilities, (OSC) Oshkosh Sports Complex during open times. Tasks include: act as liaison between campus departments to ensure and maintain good communication and cooperation; unlock and lock all access gates/doors as it pertains to the facility schedule; monitor the use of OSC facility per the policies and guidelines provided; monitor all fields by checking the status of the individuals using the OSC facility. Respond to all emergencies (medical, non-threatening, fire, etc.) by initiating our emergency procedures; monitor weather and enforce the inclement weather policy according to Athletics.

Qualifications Required:

1. Bachelors degree

2. Demonstrated knowledge of collegiate football coaching

3. Demonstrate the understanding of the NCAA Division III philosophy

4. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations

5. Valid drivers license or the ability to obtain one.

6. Effective interpersonal and communications skills.

7. Be a person of high moral character

8. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and be able to work with diverse populations, including but not limited to people of all ages with various ethnicities, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:

1. Masters degree

2. Five plus years of collegiate coaching experience

3. Demonstrated experience in managing a budget

4. Demonstrate a familiarity with national trends and best practices, undergraduate retention programs and practices, academic support services and campus climate.
