University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary

Temporary, “exempt”, benefited position through 9/30/2022 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).

Location: Palm Desert, CA

Salary: $5,633-$7,176 per month

Department Summary:

EOC is one of the Federal TRIO programs funded through the U.S. Department of Education. CSUSB's EOC program is designed to identify, select, enroll, retain, serve, and assist 850 low-income, first-generation adults throughout the Coachella Valley. This program provides support to individuals who wish to complete their General Education Diploma (GED) and enroll in a program of post-secondary study, or are college-eligible individuals who wish to enter a program of post-secondary study, or individuals who previously stopped-out of a collegiate program who wish to re-enter a post-secondary program of study

Work Schedule

Exempt position. Schedule to be arranged, but typically, Monday-Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm though some nights, weekend work may be required.

First Review Deadline

This position will remain open until filled. Applications will be reviewed beginning 12/16/2021.

Typical Activities

Under minimal supervision of the Associate Vice-President of Student Success and Educational Equity , the Project Director will work independently to:

Responsible for the management, implementation and delivery of all Program activities, curriculum and services;

Collaborates with the Office of Pre-College Programs, local education agencies, adult school staff, community agencies, institutions of higher education, veteran serving organizations, other campus entities and business partners to inform of project opportunities and recruit eligible participants;

Oversees the recruitment, selection and orientation of participants into the Program;

Develops and continuously updates program policies and procedures;

Develops and administers comprehensive training programs to ensure quality of curriculum and Program success;

Ensures all Program records adhere to U.S. Department of Education Guidelines and serves as the liaison to the Program Specialist;

Prepares and submits the Annual Performance Report to the U.S. Department of Education;

Plan, develop, monitor and manage the budget in accordance to federal, state and institutional policy;

Hires, supervises, and evaluates program staff;

Develops non-federal resources to assist in support of Program activities;

Maintain accurate, audit ready records including student files, financial records, service records, equipment inventory, etc.

Maintain a participant database for reporting and tracking;

Manage a caseload of participants;

Monitor security of and access to databases, student records, and other sensitive information;

Attend meetings and events as requested;

Develop and maintain a system for formative and summative Program evaluation;

Performs all other duties as assigned



Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in Counseling, Education or related field;

Experience: Master's degree in Counseling, Education or related field; Experience working with students who are first-generation, historically underrepresented, low-income, disabled, and/or academically under-performing. Five years' experience in an educational setting; Three years' experience in employing, training and supervising personnel;

Additional Qualifications: Experience with program evaluation and reports; Knowledge of general compliance requirements; Strong and effective communication and public speaking skills; Experience working with targeted population; Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred;
  • Valid California Driver's License and proof of vehicle insurance are required;
  • Must provide his/her own transportation to satellite sites
    • Applicants that have experience in overcoming barriers similar to those of Educational Opportunity Center students are desirable.

Fully vaccinated is defined as having the last immunization shot at least 14 days prior to the date being evaluated. Current and new employees of UEC are required to adhere to this policy by September 20, 2021 and remain in adherence after that date.
