Job Description
The Department of Kinesiology in the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise & Sport Science to begin fall of 2022. Rank will be determined upon qualifications. Primary teaching responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, graduate and undergraduate courses in Sport Psychology, Applied Strength & Conditioning, Exercise Testing & Prescription, Kinetic Anatomy, Physiological Aspects of Kinesiology, Nutrition for Human Performance, and/or other classes based upon knowledge and expertise. The major responsibilities include teaching, research or creative activity, service, and student advisement/mentoring.
Required Qualifications:
- An earned Doctorate degree in Kinesiology or
Kinesiology-related field. Advanced ABD will be considered: degree
must be conferred by the time of appointment.
- A commitment to excellence in teaching, service, scholarly
productivity.
- Experience and/or training in the usage of technology in course
delivery (e.g., Blackboard, on-line courses).
- National Strength & Conditioning Association CSCS
Certification or successful completion of the exam at the time of
appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience teaching undergraduate/graduate
kinesiology courses,
- A demonstrated pattern of excellent teaching, student
mentorship and engagement, committed service and scholarly
productivity,
- An established research agenda in sport performance/strength
& conditioning,
- A willingness to work collaboratively with departmental
research projects and grants,
- Experience with grant writing and success with securing
intra/extramural funding, and
- Ability to teach NSCA lifting competencies
