The University of Wisconsin-Stout Counseling Center is seeking a
qualified individual to apply for an Associate Director position.
This position will also be responsible for coordinating equity,
diversity, and inclusion efforts in the Counseling Center. This
position is a 100% appointment with full benefits. The individual

multicultural perspective into all areas of our work. This position
will be responsible for providing culturally informed services,
including using best practices and evidenced-based care, to ensure
a high quality of care for all students.
The Associate Director assists with key administrative
responsibilities for the Counseling Center and functions as the
backup administrator to the Director; assisting with policy
development, budget, overseeing staff, and leading and managing
equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) efforts within the center
for students and staff. This individual will also be responsible
for a clinical caseload (individual, couples, and group counseling
and crisis services), providing clinical supervision, outreach and
prevention programming, and consultation to campus and community
constituents. These services may be provided both in-person and
The primary coordinator role for the Associate Director will be
managing and organizing EDI efforts within the Counseling center
for students and staff. This role will collaborate with the EDI
Unit, Associate Dean of Students for Equity, Diversity, and
Inclusion, as well as various offices on campus (e.g. Multicultural
Student Services, Disability Services, The Qube, Veterans Services,
Student Support Services, etc) to develop collaborative
relationships and programming with various campus partners that are
serving our historically marginalized populations. The Associate
Director will also assist with the development and implementation
of a short- and long-term EDI action plan for the center.
ANTICIPATED START DATE: As soon as possible
Minimum / Required
- Master’s degree completed in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage
and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or related degree which
meets educational requirements for Licensed Professional Counselor,
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family
- Two years of leadership, including increased supervisory and
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
practices within an organization, team, and/or campus
- Minimum of one year experience working in a college or
university counseling center.
Preferred/Highly Desired Qualifications
- Doctoral degree of Philosophy (PhD), Doctorate of Psychology
(PsyD), or Doctorate of Education (EdD)
- Licensed psychologist or licensed for at least five years as a
LPC, LMFT, or LCSW
- Experience/expertise in the following:
- Crisis assessment and response.
- Assessing and treating serious mental health issues.
- Demonstrated experience initiating and leading EDI efforts
within an organization.
- Clinical experience working with traditionally underserved or
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in providing clinical
services, outreach, and training for diverse populations.
- Clinical supervision.
- Facilitation of groups, particularly interpersonal process
- Psychological testing.
- Providing telehealth services.
