Postdoctoral

Biomaterials and Immunoengineering

 

A full-time postdoctoral position is available in the area of immunoengineering in the lab of Dr. Abhinav Acharya (acharya.engineering.asu.edu).  The successful candidate will be work on developing novel biomaterials to address autoimmune diseases, cancer and inflammatory disorders. This is a one-year position with yearly renewal. The successful candidate should have a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related fields.  The candidate should have prior experience, in polymer synthesis, animal handling, and working knowledge of the immune system.  The qualified candidate must have excellent written and communication skills and should be able to work in a team setting and collaborate.

 

Details:  This position is funded through NIH grants to Acharya Lab at Arizona State University. The postdoctoral fellow will work on developing novel biomaterials, work with different animal models and diseases such as cancer and autoimmune diseases to develop a translatable formulation.

 

Necessary qualifications:  Candidate should have a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related fields.  Candidate should have experience with synthesizing biomaterials and mouse handling experience.

 

Desired Qualifications:  Candidate should have working knowledge of the immune system, neuro-inflammation, and metabolism.
