Norwich University seeks a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor to serve as the Clinical Education Coordinator (CEC) in the Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program that will be launching in fall 2022. The MAT program is housed in the Department of Health and Human Performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for placing Athletic Training students at clinical sites, training and education of clinical preceptors, developing and maintaining systems for tracking student, preceptor, and clinical site records in support of programmatic goals and accordance with regulatory guidelines set forth by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), and collaborate with the MAT Program Director in the administration of the program. The CEC will instruct in traditional and practicum course work within the MAT as well as undergraduate coursework in Health Science. The CEC will be expected to participate in scholarly activities. Responsibilities will also include advising students and serving on department, college, and university committees.

 


Requirements:

The successful candidate will demonstrate: a working knowledge of programmatic accreditation standards as set forth by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), a history of clinical practice in Athletic Training, professional development resulting in expertise within the field, and a scholarly agenda. A terminal degree in athletic training or similar field is required (ABD considered). Athletic training faculty must be certified and in good standing with the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers and possess (or be eligible for) Vermont state licensure as an Athletic Trainer.
