The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant to the Office of Institutional Advancement in our Office of Institutional Advancement . The Assistant to the Office of Institutional Advancement provides administrative and office support for the Office of Institutional Advancement and is responsible for independent performance of administrative functions in order to assist the office with fundraising and community development. The Assistant to the Office of Institutional Advancement maintains various financial and budgetary detail for the Institutional Advancement Office of the College and the MVCC Foundation Board of Directors. The Assistant to the Office of Institutional Advancement researches, gathers and maintains confidential donor, prospect and financial information for the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Key responsibilities for this position include:
  • Prepares, types, and distributes correspondence and reports required by the Office of Institutional Advancement;
  • Serves as the primary administrative support staff for the Office of Institutional Advancement;
  • Develops and maintains an efficient office filing system, including files on a sensitive and confidential nature including, but not limited to, scholarship applications and awards, donor gift history, and prospect profiles;
  • Schedules appointments and meetings. Maintains contact and address lists for the Executive Director of the MVCC Foundation and other Institutional Advancement team members as needed;
  • Prepares data and runs fundraising reports for the MVCC Foundation Board, Scholarship Committee, Audit, Finance and Investment Committee, outside independent auditors;
  • Assists with the Student Emergency Relief Loans and Scholarships;
  • Prepares resolutions and correspondence for the MVCC Foundation Board, and MVCC Board of Trustees as required by the Executive Director;
  • Coordinates the end-to-end scholarship process;
  • Processes all aspects of MVCC Foundation’s account payables and receivables;
  • Assists with the formation and review of office procedures and regulations;
  • Assists the Institutional Advancement team in compiling, analyzing, preparing reports, prospect profiles, donor proposals, and presentations for major/lead gift asks, using a variety of media and technological systems;
  • Assists the campus community and the public with questions and/or concerns relating to Scholarships and the Office of Institutional Advancement;
  • Maintains excellent public relations in the college community, general public and with donors, alumni, prospects and politicians;
  • Assists the Institutional Advancement team with the Tea Leaf social enterprises;
  • Provides support to the Executive Director of the MVCC Foundation, and the Assistant to the Vice President of Administrative Services during the year-end financial statement audit, and works with the external auditors to provide necessary information;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of the MVCC Foundation, Inc.
Qualifications:


Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree and three (3) years related office experience, or Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of office experience
  • Experience working in a confidential office environment
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Executive level office experience and ability to manage conflicting priorities
