Visiting Assistant Professor in Cognitive and/or Developmental Psychology

Williams College Department of Psychology seeks candidates for a one-year visiting position beginning July 1, 2022, with the possibility of extending for an additional year. We seek a scholar with expertise in cognitive and/or developmental psychology. Teaching responsibilities will consist of 4 credits per year and may include a portion of our team-taught Introductory Psychology course, a survey course in either Cognitive Psychology or Developmental Psychology, upper-level seminars in the candidate’s area of interest, and/or a senior seminar course. We provide visiting faculty with mentoring in teaching. In addition, visiting faculty are eligible to apply for funds to support a research program with students as well as research space in our excellent research facilities. We seek skilled teachers and productive scholars who will be able to provide meaningful research experiences for students. We are especially interested in candidates from underrepresented groups and candidates who have experience working with diverse undergraduate student populations. The teaching statement should include a description of your pedagogical approach, evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., course evaluations), and a brief description of a course you would like to teach as an upper-level seminar. The research statement should include a description of your research program as well as a description of how undergraduates might be included in your research program. The diversity statement may address your prior experiences with and your approach to building an inclusive learning environment in your teaching, mentoring, research, service, and/or college community, as well as how your commitment to fostering diversity, inclusion, and equity informs your teaching and research.
