The Coordinator of Events and Activities will be responsible for the design, planning and execution of a wide range of programs and activities sponsored by the Center for International Services. Includes existing programs and the design, implementation and direction of additional programs and events that would double the programming currently available. Plan & direct Graduate orientation and assist in the undergraduate student orientation. Direct the strategic collaboration with campus partners to better connect international and domestic students. Management of annual budget of close to $200,000. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education or experience in a related field such as International Relations, Cross-Cultural Counseling, Higher Education, Humanities, Social Work, Information Technology.

Experience in event planning, activities coordination or relevant field required. Job Specific Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of work experience and one year’s experience working in an office which has an international education exchange focus.
  • Second language fluency, living or working abroad experience, excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language preferred.
  • Computer applications, such as word, excel and HTML required. Cross-Cultural educational background beneficial. Bachelor’s degree in relevant area, Master’s degree preferred
  • Strong computer skills are required
Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute all activities and programs sponsored by the Center for International Services and direct the interaction with internal and external vendors providing services related to the position responsibilities. Management and reconciliation of close to $200,000 annual budget.
  • Planning and execution of new programs.
  • Planning and implementation of international student arrival, orientation and welcome (summer, fall, winter) including Mentor hiring and training.
  • Supervision of Graduate Assistant and English Conversation Group Coordinator, including hiring and training.
  • Management of department newsletter and social media, some website updates, and technology training & usage.
