The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Metropolitan State University of Denver is actively designing a robust employee experience and culture focused around diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, and career sustainability for students, faculty, and staff. The Total Rewards Analyst role is responsible for assisting with the day to day administration of compensation, benefits, and wellness policies and programs. This role will support the ongoing development of our compensation strategy in order to attract, retain and motivate employees while supporting business initiatives and growth. This position has a heavy focus on conducting analyses of jobs and salaries to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance. This role will significantly contribute to the improvement and execution of MSU Denver’s compensation, benefits, and wellness processes and systems.

60% Compensation
  • This role will assist the Senior Total Rewards Analyst – Compensation, with market pricing job evaluation, benchmarking and incentive pay.
  • This position also assists in evaluating jobs and determining pay grades and performs associated analysis.
  • Ensures that requests for pay adjustments comply with current compensation policy.
  • Assist in resolution of routine compensation concerns and response to issues and questions from employees and leaders across the campus.
  • Completes job action analysis for promotions, lateral transfers, new headcounts, off-cycle increases, new hires, demotions and more.
  • Assists administrative and technical support in compensation, including writing and updating job descriptions, evaluating jobs, and determining their classification.
20% Internal and External Reporting
  • Assists in preparing survey submissions, market assessments, analyzes survey results, and performs other analyses as needed.
  • Fulfills compensation report requests and analysis for all internal stakeholders, highly including time-sensitive request from University leadership.
10% Employee Benefit
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Assists with the open enrollment process.
10% Other duties assigned by the Total Rewards Team. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Experience working in a Human Resources department.
  • Pay close attention to detail to ensure the completeness and accuracy of work performed by oneself and/or others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience managing compensation actions.
  • Previous work experience with strict deadlines and changing priorities and conditions.
  • Previous experience working collaboratively with a group or team to achieve a common goal.
  • Previous experience making administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive and confidential issues.
Work Hours
M-F 8:00-5:00pm
Can be flexible with work schedule
