Summary The new Vice President for Advancement and
President of the NEOMED Foundation will lead a dynamic and
comprehensive team of professionals dedicated to outreach,
engagement, and innovation in the areas of development, fundraising
and alumni relations. This individual will provide strategic
leadership and direction for all aspects of fundraising including
annual giving, planned giving, major gift giving, alumni giving,
corporate foundation relationships and a strategic University
campaign celebrating the institution’s 50th Anniversary. The
Vice President will report directly to the President and maintain a
collaborative cross-divisional relationship with members of the
Executive Management Team and their respective areas.

Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Demonstrate a commitment to and excitement for
the mission of Northeast Ohio Medical University, its students,
faculty and staff and their exceptional experience.
2) Manage a substantial portfolio of presidential
prospects at the major and principal gift levels. Become a trusted
advisor to the President including supporting him in the
highest-level conversations with principal gift donors and
prospects. 3) Lead in the establishment and
implementation of development priorities for the various colleges
and other areas of the University. Ensure the efforts of
development and the colleges are well coordinated and
supported. Maintain the participation of the President, Deans,
Vice Presidents, faculty and alumni in the joint cultivation and
stewardship of key funding sources, including corporations and
foundations. 4) Lead the policy, planning, and
execution of annual, multi-year strategies and capital campaigns as
well as set the policy for managing and reporting philanthropic
activity according to highest association standards.
5) Understand and advance the case for support of
the student experience at Northeast Ohio Medical
University. There is great capacity for the Foundation to be a
source of opportunity to expand and rethink how the students
engage. 6) Inspire, lead and transform prospective
donors, alumni, colleagues, senior leadership, faculty, staff,
students, and the community to encourage them to engage with
Northeast Ohio Medical University. 7) Direct the
leadership of the Alumni Association. Develop strategies to
communicate and engage University alumni. Manage a growth
campaign in alumni membership and alumni giving.
8) Work with and lead the Foundation’s Board in
their understanding of how the Foundation will be re-imagined to
create new partnerships, to identify alternative revenue sources,
and to rethink how it conducts its business in support of the
University’s strategic plan. 9) Serve as a primary
liaison to the Board of Trustees for the Institutional Advancement
Committee by providing quarterly updates related to the Foundation
as well as on an as-needed basis. 10) Serve as the
primary contact for the Foundation’s investment consultants and
external audit firms. 11) Represent the NEOMED
Foundation, where necessary, at University, community and
development events including meetings, committees and/or other
related groups to communicate information regarding the Foundation
and its initiatives. 12) Prepare and be accountable for
the budgets of the NEOMED Foundation and the Office of Advancement
at NEOMED. 13) Perform related duties as
assigned. Qualifications Education/Degrees:
A master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Experience: Requires progressively responsible senior-level
executive experience in administration, particularly in the areas
encompassed by the vice presidency with demonstrated results in
managing people, and tasks in a highly complex work environment,
preferably in higher education along with a demonstrated ability
and successful track record of planning, executing and successfully
closing significant major and principal gifts. Ability to interact
with the Foundation, Board of Trustees, senior leadership,
students, faculty and staff among others. Familiarity with donor
and alumni information systems, i.e., Raiser’s Edge.
