The Department of Finance and Business Law in the College of
Business at James Madison University (JMU) invites applications for
a renewable term appointment with the rank of Lecturer in finance.
The appointment begins August 2022.
The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of Finance and
Business Law faculty providing instruction in the core business and
finance curriculum. Candidates will be expected to teach principles
of finance classes at the undergraduate level.

About the Department: The Finance
and Business Law Department is staffed by 17 full-time faculty with
14 faculty in finance and 3 in Business Law. The department serves
both Finance and Quantitative Finance majors and college business

About the College:
The AACSB-accredited College of Business includes nationally
ranked undergraduate and graduate programs. In 2018, the
Information Security MBA was recognized as #1 in the
nation for the Best Online Information
Security MBA Programs, and #16 in the Princeton Review’s
list of the top 25 Online MBA Programs. The College
includes the Center for Entrepreneurship, Center for Professional
Selling, Small Business Development Center, Capital Markets Lab,
Madison Consulting, and other programs focused on outreach and

Duties and Responsibilities:
The normal teaching load will be 4/4, i.e., four 3-credit courses each semester during the regular academic year. In addition to teaching, this position requires general service to the institution and the ability to maintain professional qualifications.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in finance from an AACSB-accredited institution. Master’s of Business. Administration degree from an AACSB-accredited institution acceptable when combined with professional financial experience. CFA or CFP designations are a plus.
- Candidates must provide evidence of professional qualifications and engagement in accordance with AACSB standards.
- Teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Three or more years of professional experience in managerial finance strongly preferred.
