Job Description:
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Florida invites applications for a Lecturer (working title Instructional Assistant Professor) position to begin on August 16, 2023. The appointment is full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-accruing, and renewable annually. Candidates must have a substantial interest in lower-level curriculum development. Experience with both live and online teaching formats is a plus. The University’s stated goal is to reduce class sizes across campus and these new positions will allow the Department of Mathematics to support this effort by moving large-lecture courses to smaller, more interactive environments.
Lecturers play a crucial role in our dynamic instructional enterprise by bringing subject expertise and commitment to excellence in teaching to bear in educating our exceptional undergraduates. Summer teaching, both in-person and online, is available.
Advertised Salary:
The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.
Minimum Requirements:
MS in mathematics or a closely related field with substantial coursework in mathematics (at least 18 credit hours of graduate mathematics courses) is required prior to the start of the appointment. Candidates should have a record of success in curriculum development and innovative teaching.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field.
Experience with both live and online teaching formats is a plus.
