Accounts Receivable and Scholarship Manager (71101)


Location: Brooklyn, NY

Description:
Pratt Institute is seeking an Accounts Receivable and Scholarship Manager who is a creative problem-solver with the ability to demonstrate quantitative and analytical skills and a high level of proficiency in data management. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for facilitating student account transactions with a primary focus on comprehensive financial management, administration, and reporting of endowment scholarship funds. The Manager will ensure that both donor's intent and Pratt Institute's needs are respected. This position will develop, execute, and report on continual internal audit and testing of all scholarship awards and perform monthly reconciliation while helping develop a culture of collaboration and accountability to ensure donor intent by identifying operational systemic risks and offering best practice corrective action plan solutions and strategies.

On a typical day you will be required to:
  • Partner with the Institutional Advancement Team, Finance, Admissions, Student Affairs and Faculty to facilitate and coordinate the timely endowment scholarship awarding process and donor criteria compliance
  • Collaborate with the Office of Institutional Advancement for reporting scholarship expenditures to administer the donor funded scholarship program
  • Accurately and timely processing and posting of funds to student accounts; and performs the reconciliation necessary as per institutional policy and procedures


Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Three to five years of experience working in the development office of a large educational institution or nonprofit and/or experience working in student financial services within a higher education private university setting. Must have experience working with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Required Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint). Working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague or other student information systems preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A professional and resourceful approach; the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
