The Department of Biology at the University of Central Arkansas invites applications for a non-tenure-track Lecturer position in Microbiology. Appointments are typically at the Lecturer I rank however, experienced candidates may be appointed at the rank of Lecturer II. The primary teaching responsibility will be Microbiology for Human Affairs (BIOL 2411), a microbiology course for pre-nursing students. The successful candidate will also serve as the microbiology course coordinator, with responsibilities including oversight of microbiology teaching labs, supervision of the microbiology lab coordinator, development of lab exercises for BIOL 2411, and collaboration with other microbiology instructors. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to working collaboratively and supporting diversity and inclusion. The expected start date for this position is August 15th, 2022.

The Department of Biology has 33 full-time faculty, approximately 700 undergraduate majors. In addition to our BS degree program, we have a growing MS program that currently enrolls 30 graduate students. We also support an interdisciplinary undergraduate Environmental Science program.
