Summary of Position

The Human Development & Family Studies department in the College of Health and Human Services at the University of New Hampshire is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2022. Primary areas of scholarship should include families and family relationships. Responsibilities for the position include:

  1. Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses
  2. Developing a successful program of research
  3. Advising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
  4. Participating in service

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications                

An earned Doctorate in Human Development and Family Studies or a related field is required by the time of appointment. A successful candidate will have an established research program that shows potential for external funding, effective teaching and outreach skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities. Successful candidates should have scholarly expertise and teaching experience in the area of family science (e.g., family structures, internal dynamics of families, marital, parental, sibling, or other relationships). Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to creating an educational environment that fosters diversity, inclusion, and quality engagement for all. In addition, a candidate with one or more of the following is highly desirable: Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) credentials, research that is applied and emphasizes the sociocultural contexts impacting family life, and/or experience teaching courses on family processes, relationships, or family theory.
