Job Description:

York College of Pennsylvania's Department of The Arts and Humanities invite applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank in the Literature program. Areas of specialization are open, but the ideal applicant should be able to teach broadly in American and British literature across genres and time periods.

The Assistant Professor in Literature will be responsible for teaching courses in the Literature and general education programs as needed, advising majors, serving on departmental and college-wide committees, and pursuing a scholarly agenda. As a teaching-focused institution, York College seeks candidates committed to cultivating student excellence and with genuine interest in teaching and developing student scholarly activity. Our standard load is 4-4.

The Department of The Arts and Humanities is broadly interdisciplinary. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborative team.


Requirements:

Preferred applicants will hold a PhD in Literature, English, or related field. ABD candidates with a completion date of no later than August 2022 will also be considered. The candidate should show evidence of scholarly potential, including established research agenda with future plans for ongoing work.
