Position Purpose

The Research Assistant (RA) will be part of a dynamic, collaborative team at the Center for Technology and Behavioral Health and play an essential role in implementation of a study focused on women with substance use conditions. The NIH -funded study to evaluate the impact of a yoga-mindfulness intervention on outcomes for pregnant women with opioid use disorder and their infants. The RA will work closely with the Project Manager and study leadership to carry out day-to-day activities of the study.

Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

* Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, public health, epidemiology or other related area.
* At least 3 years of experience conducting social sciences research.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a team member and with study partners and participants.
* Ability to independently plan, implement and creatively troubleshoot issues that arise related to study protocol.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Good working knowledge of computers and software applications to manage data and to create reports and presentations.
* Effective written and oral communications.
* Willingness to travel to study sites in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.
* Must hold a valid driver’s license and be qualified under the terms of the Dartmouth College Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Policy

Preferred Qualifications

* Prior research experience involving recruitment and tracking of study participants.
* Experience with online survey software packages (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, REDCap).
* Experience with statistical packages (e.g., SAS, Stata, SPSS ).
* Experience in conduct of clinical trials and preparation of regulatory documents a plus.

* Conducts outreach, recruitment, screening, and consenting of eligible participants for study participation.

Data Collection, Participant Tracking and Data Integrity
* Administers study assessments to participants at designated time points and actively implements follow up strategies to retain participants.
* Ensures timely payment of all study participants and documents incentive disbursements.
* Reviews entered data, resolves data queries, and missing information. Documents all data collection accurately and according to protocol.
* Ensures that study activities are carried out according to protocol, including but not limited to participant recruitment and screening, implementation of study assessments and interviews, and maintenance of required documentation.
