Position: High School English, Math, Science, History Teacher - Shandong, China; Hainan, China
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) classroom teacher position in a newly formed Chinese private high school. Subject-Matter teachers needed include English language and Mathematics. Typical high school teacher responsibilities include:

Conduct a minimum 29 instructional
and 11 office duty hours per week
Weekend and night duty hours may be
required from time to time by prearrangement. These hours will be
complimented by deduction from instructional and office duty
hours.
Deliver readymade, turn-key content
for classroom delivery
Participate in professional
development
Participation in High School staff
activities; Mentor/Lead school clubs and/or activities
Participate in occasional school
administration activities
Collaborate with local Chinese
teaching staff and administrators
Observe all codes and regulations of
teacher conduct as prescribed by the local Chinese Ministry of
Education.
Location: Linyi, Shandong & Haikou, Hainan
There are two potential locations for new hires. Linyi Yilin High School in the city of Linyi in Shandong province is located 1.5 hours from Beijing and Shanghai by plane. Yingya High School in Haikou, Hainan province is located ~4 hours from Beijing and ~4 hours from Shanghai by plane.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in subject matter intending to teach, such as:
- Secondary Education – Math, English
- English as a Second Language, TESOL
- TEFL/TESOL certification with 2+ teaching experience (optional and preferably at the high school level)
- US state teaching license (preferred for English; required for math, science, history)
- At least 2 years of professional, classroom-based teaching
- Familiarity with US secondary education system
- Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
- Experience working with teenagers
- Experience living overseas preferred, particularly in China
- US, UK, Canadian, Irish, New Zealand, South African or Australian Citizenship & Passport (required)
- Native/bilingual English-speaking skills (required)
Program:
Linyi Yilin and Yingyi High Schools are an innovative endeavor challenging the traditional eastern education high school students usually receive. Creating a unique education environment, Linyi Yilin and Yingyi High Schools provide Chinese high school students with co-curricular content in both English and Chinese. The intended audience are Chinese students intending to study abroad in the United States.
Using high school curricula developed by Arizona State University Prep Digital, the University’s public secondary school arm, teachers instruct students in content designed to prepare them to study in the United States. With no need to create their content, teachers are expected to be well-versed in the content to best instruct their students.
Duration: 2-year commitment with renewable options for a maximum of 4 years.
Start Date: Mid-February 2022, candidates will need to be in-country before the start of semester (est. January latest).

Salary: Up to US$45,000 per year,
with potential raises upon performance review
