McPherson College’s Department of Business invites applications for Assistant Professor in Business Management. The position is a full-time, nine-month, three-year appointment, with conversion to tenure-track based on performance. The position includes curriculum development and teaching responsibilities for courses in business management, marketing, operations, and other subjects that play to the selected candidate’s strengths. Additional responsibilities include supervising practicum experiences, advising business majors, working collaboratively in a small department, committee participation, course and program assessment, and service.

Located in central Kansas, McPherson College is a private, residential, liberal arts college of 800 students, of which 180 are currently business majors. The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. A doctoral degree with significant coursework in business management; preferably small business management
  2. Significant experience in business management.
  3. Experience teaching or learning in the small, liberal arts college environment
  4. A demonstrated dedication to excellence in teaching at the post-secondary level and a desire to develop innovative learning experiences
  5. A desire to participate collaboratively in the development of course and program curricula and the achievement of program goals and outcomes
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Credentials

  1. M.B.A. and experience in business management
