Job Summary/Basic Function: This position reports to the President of Brazosport College and: 

  • Provides support for Board Meetings through preparation of electronic agendas, minutes, and documents as required by coordinating collection of items and supporting materials from staff; 
  • Attends and takes minutes at board meetings;
  • Is responsible for posting and delivery of documentation, and official board communication in compliance with open records laws; 
  • Manages conference travel arrangements for members of the Board of Regents and personal communications with board members as requested by the President and may also travel with members of the Board of Regents to conferences and association meetings;
  • Provides for executive communication support for the President, including research and development of content for speeches, presentations, and written communications; 
  • Receives and handles confidential and often sensitive inquiries directed to President’s office;
  • Provides support through personal communication with Board, public, staff and faculty;
  • Manages the operation of the office of the President, including budget oversight, performance of routine office procedures, and maintaining official college records;
  • Manages President’s calendar, including scheduling and travel arrangements; and
  • Plans and coordinates college dinners and receptions for the Office of the President.
Minimum Qualifications: The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as communications, public relations, or management;
  • Demonstrated successful experience in public relations and communications and in office management;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal, documentation and organizational skills;
  • Computer competency; 
  • Ability to be patient and provide excellent student service in a busy work environment;
  • Ability to get along with others, foster an environment where diverse populations feel valued, work under stress, and follow directions;
  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution.
