Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice.  These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

The Department of Educational Studies in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University invites applications for a full-time (9-month) open rank tenure-track position in School Psychology.  The position will begin in August 2022. The Department of Educational Studies has a commitment to excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service that advances the educational environment across a diversity of contexts and peoples. Qualifications: The position requires the candidate to demonstrate evidence of (Associate or Full Professor) or strong potential to gain (Assistant) a national and/or international scholarly reputation as evidenced in part by development of a strong publication record focused on school psychology. We seek a candidate who has a doctorate in School Psychology and on track to or have obtained a license by the State Board of Psychology. We also seek a candidate who has a commitment to quality teaching, clinical supervision, and advising/mentorship. Evidence of effort toward obtaining internal and external funded research, knowledge of methodological approaches, and potential to build partnerships with national and local constituents will also be viewed as strengths. We also seek a candidate who demonstrates ability to teach and work with persons from minoritized backgrounds and whose research, teaching, and service will contribute to our commitment to social justice, diversity, and inclusion in higher education.

The candidate must meet the following required qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate in the field of school psychology or a related field
  • A record of or potential for rigorous research and scholarship
  • Potential to teach graduate courses and provide clinical supervision
  • Potential or record of seeking and/or obtaining extramural funding
  • Potential to teach, advise, and mentor M.A., EdS., and Ph.D. students

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be a scholar who has developed, or has the potential to develop, a national and/or international reputation in the field of school psychology. Responsibilities include conducting and publishing research in top-tier journals; securing internal/external funding to support their research; teaching graduate and/or undergraduate courses; mentoring MA and Ph.D. students; engaging in curriculum development; providing support for program growth; and providing service to the department, college, university, and academic and practice communities.
