To continue our impressive growth we are seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor, Communication Studies at our New York City campus.

Position Overview:

The Department of Communication and Media Studies of Dyson College of Arts and Sciences is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate major and core curriculum courses. For this position which begins in August 2022, we are interested in candidates whose research and teaching explore media or human communication practices. Areas of specialization may include but are not limited to:

  • Journalism/Digital Storytelling with an emphasis in media technologies, media ethics, or media law and news literacy
  • Health Communication as it intersects with technology, digital media, and racial and social justice and equity
  • Family/Relational Communication as it relates to supportive communication, conflict communication, and/or interpersonal/interracial/intergroup/intercultural/co-cultural communication

Position Qualifications:

  • Appropriate level of education based on rank
  • Prior teaching experience at the higher education level preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Preference will be given to those with a Ph.D. in Communication or Media Studies.
  • ABD’s who will have degrees in hand by August 2022 and recent PhDs are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant must show a commitment to undergraduate education and to the advancement of undergraduate research and scholarship.
