Job Description:

Summary: The Maintenance Specialist II is a 12-month full-time career service position. This position is primarily assigned to the Pensacola Campus but may be assigned to work any of the campuses throughout the district. The Maintenance Specialist II coordinates and participates in a variety of maintenance functions to include but not limited to HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of assigned buildings and grounds areas throughout the district. Provides security of buildings and the maintenance of necessary supplies and parts. Reports to Maintenance Manager.

This position will work with climate control systems to assist in daily operations and scheduling events, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair digital control systems and components, train and instruct support staff personnel, and monitor work performance for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. Responsible for knowing and conforming to all safety practices and regulations that apply to this specific area position.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency and four years’ experience HVAC, electrical, or plumbing; and a valid driver’s license. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Prefer experience in digital control systems, and operation and repair; and residential split package units from 1 to 10 tons.

SALARY RANGE: $27,825.00 ($14.27/hour)
