Business Administration Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty

Schedule Information: Per course schedule; maintains a minimums of 15 contact hours of teaching and 10 office hours per week for student consultation; evening and weekend instruction may be required. Serves on college committees; participates in departmental and division initiatives.

Weeks per fiscal year: Faculty are covered under a 9-month contract period (August thru May)

Position Description and Duties: Harper College seeks a dynamic instructor of Business for a full-time tenure-track position. This position will report to the Dean of Business and Social Sciences.

A successful candidate will have a background in finance, human resources, management, or marketing.

Full time faculty are expected to teach 15 contact hours, serve on department / division / institutional committees, hold 10 office hours per week, and pursue professional development opportunities related to business.

The business department is comprised of 3 full time professors and 15-20 adjunct faculty who teach management, marketing, human resources, finance, entrepreneurship, sales and insurance classes. The department also includes the IDEAShop, the MakerSpace and Entrepreneur Center at Harper College, Fast Track and Apprenticeship programs, and provides dual credit and internship opportunities for high school students. The department offers extracurricular activities that include; Business and Entrepreneurship Club, summer camps and social entrepreneurship opportunities at the IDEAShop.

We are looking for candidates who are committed to student success and have experience delivering instruction in various modalities and be able to support transfer and career students. A successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the classroom as well as an understanding of theoretical concepts within the discipline.

Educational Requirements: At least an MBA or Master’s degree in management, marketing, or finance.

Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of business experience in finance, human resources, management, or marketing.

*Preferred qualifications: College level teaching experience or demonstrated ability to teach subject matter and credentialed online teaching experience is preferred.
