West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek a board certified Endocrinologist to serve as Section Chief of Endocrinology.

This position will provide leadership and oversight of the Endocrinology Section. The successful candidate may practice in the areas of inpatient and outpatient Endocrinology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Opportunities exist to participate in clinical and translational research.

Appropriate candidates will be qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The Section Chief will be expected to practice in the primary location of Morgantown, WV, and will also be expected to supervise services at additional outreach sites to be determined based on expansion and growth of our services.

The Section of Endocrinology includes five physicians and two advanced practice professionals. There is an opportunity for expansion of the clinical workforce. We currently have an Endocrinology Fellowship with two fellows. Expansion of the Fellowship program is expected in the future. The Section Chief will also have the opportunity to develop a telemedicine program for those limited by travel. The successful candidate will have a passion for the unique challenges in rural healthcare, such as developing programs to better serve our patients who seek care from a great distance.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a MD or DO degree and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must be board certified in endocrinology at the time of appointment. A minimum of two years of experience as an endocrinologist is required. Established evidence of academic and/or administrative achievements is desirable. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
