Laurence J. Adams Distinguished Chair
McDaniel College
&
President & CEO
Target Community & Educational Services, Inc.

McDaniel College in partnership with Target Community & Educational Services, Inc., both located in Westminster, MD., announce the search for a uniquely talented individual to serve the College as the Laurence J. Adams Distinguished Chair and to serve as President & CEO of Target, Inc. (Target), a human service organization. In this dual role, the incumbent will teach half-time at the College and coordinate McDaniel's Human Services Management graduate program and also serve half-time at Target, the program's internship site.

Target provides residential living in group homes and apartments, as well as employment and other personal support, to 300 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Carroll and Montgomery counties, MD. With all residential facilities newly renovated, a substantial endowment, and funding from state and county resources, Target is financially strong and has the reputation of providing high-quality client support as evidenced by the many accolades earned over the years.

The Human Services Management graduate program that the Chair will oversee is renowned for preparing candidates for leadership positions in non-profit and public sectors.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to provide leadership and creativity for McDaniel's graduate program and Target, and to demonstrate such leadership locally, across the State of Maryland, and on the national level.

The Adams Chair will be appointed as a full professor into a 12-month, non-tenure-track position and reports both to the Dean of Graduate and Professional Programs at McDaniel College and to the Board of Directors of Target. The appointment will begin July 1, 2022.
