Assistant/Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering

The School of Engineering at Penn State Behrend invites applicants for full-time, tenure-track faculty position starting in FALL 2022 at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in Industrial Engineering.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in the manufacturing field, graduate courses in our Master of Manufacturing Management program and guide senior design projects. Areas of teaching may include but are not limited to manufacturing systems design and analysis, system analysis and optimization, advanced and smart manufacturing, and/or bio-manufacturing.

The successful candidate will also be expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education, work in a collaborative environment, maintain an active research program that integrates undergraduate student experiences, and perform service to the university, inclusive of highly valued applied research and collaboration with local industry as part of Penn State Behrend's Open Lab initiative.

A Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field is required by the appointment start date. Candidates with a recognized research record, supported by at least eight archival journal publications, and teaching experience of over five years, may be considered for the higher rank of Associate Professor.
