Associate Director of Internal Communication

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of University Relations, the Associate Director of Internal Communication (Associate Director 3) writes, edits and publishes content for the University community. The Associate Director will develop an internal communication strategy that utilizes email, web and other tools to communicate effectively with a variety of internal stakeholders. Handling a range of assignments on tight deadlines, the Associate Director will regularly solicit feedback to refine messaging and approach, as well as support external communication as needed. The Associate Director will contribute to regular strategy meetings and also handle other writing and related tasks as required. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience in communication, journalism, writing or a related professional field is required. A Master’s degree in Communication, Journalism, English, Theatre or a related discipline; five to seven years of experience as listed above; and experience writing speeches professionally is preferred. Strong writing skills are essential. Candidate must have the ability to engage an audience through effective writing and strong presentations.
