Job Summary:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks applications from individuals who will develop and support curriculum that significantly extends or enhances educational opportunities for students in the department. We are particularly interested in applicants who:

i) Have a commitment to excellence, distinction and innovation in teaching, advancement of pedagogical methods, and a strong motivation to improve the department’s educational programs and engage students in experiential learning.

ii) Can instruct one or more core mechanical engineering classes at the undergraduate level, offer elective classes at the senior/graduate level and assist with instructional support of labs and senior design projects. Educational offerings should involve significant experiential activities that require students to bring together different aspects of the curriculum. The specific courses taught will depend on expertise, interest and department needs.

iii) Engage in activities that advance boundaries of engineering education and are disseminated in conference and/or peer review papers related to engineering education.

iv) Have the potential to engage industry and other external collaborators in an educational context.

Qualifications:
PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, with a commitment to excellence, distinction and innovation in instructional activities and educational programs.
